Biography of Stephen Goldhahn

Stephen Goldhahn Seated

Retired engineer, part-time musician, singer/songwriter, and history buff

A process engineer by profession with a M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Stephen spent the major portion of his professional career consulting for the food and biopharmaceutical manufacturing industries, and holds several patents in food processing.

While honing his professional technical writing skills, Stephen was able to tap into his artistic side over the years as a singer songwriter and musician. In the eighties he helped to establish an original rock band and, together with his brother, Ron, formed an independent record label to record and promote their music, and has since then collaborated on other projects. His appetite for creative writing evolved from his song writing experience, which until lately had largely remained a private passion, focusing on short stories, travel journals, and personal memoirs.

Greenwich offered Stephen the perfect opportunity to combine his love of history and writing with his career experience in the biotech consulting field. His desire to bridge the gap between his two brain hemispheres climaxed in the summer of 2007 when he launched this writing project at the urging of his wife, Janet, following their off-the-beaten-path day trip to the quaint, historic town of Greenwich, NJ, on the Cohansey River. It’s been a labor of love ever since.

Stephen was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. For the past thirty-plus years, Steve and his wife, Janet, have called south Jersey their home, and are the proud parents of two grown sons, Kevin and Michael.

Now retired from the consulting business, Stephen plans to spend more time on his other interests—storytelling, exploring history, and taking more “off-the-beaten-path” trips with his wife, Janet. Delving further into the region's colonial history, Stephen is currently active with the newly formed American Revolution Round Table of South Jersey, where he serves officially as Secretary.
