Lyrics
anywhere you go
Words and Music by Stephen Goldhahn
Just wanna say, “Why can’t we be friends?”
We’ll listen to each other’s story as we walk the journey’s end.
You say it’s mine, brother, and I say it’s yours!
Ain’t nobody left in the world think of givin’ without reward?
But anyway, what I really have to say is that
Anywhere you go I go,
And anywhere that I call home, is home…to you!
Walkin’ down the valley road I met an old man.
Said he once held the riches of the world in the palm of his hand.
And I could tell, yeah, by the sorrow in his eye
He learned the hard way, boy, that money good friends don’t buy.
And if he were here today, I’d reach out my hand, and tell him…
Anywhere you go I go,
And anywhere that I call home, is home…to you!
(Refrain)
You know the world we spin together,
We all live and we all die.
Tell me, don’t you think it would be better,
If we could learn to live and harmonize…with the other guy!
Climbed up a mountain top all alone reaching for the sky.
Climbed so high before I realized that I didn’t know how to fly!
But he saw me fallin’, reached out an caught me in his hand.
Don’t you know it was the same old man that I knew way back when.
Then he put me down; I asked him to explain. He just said…
Anywhere you go I go,
And anywhere that I call home, is home…to you!
sad and lonely
Words and Music by Stephen Goldhahn
Just say that you will be mine, girl,
Don’t ever leave me behind, girl,
‘Cause that would make me Sad and Lonely.
Recalling words often spoken,
Spent promises given and broken,
Can only make us Sad and Lonely.
(Refrain)
So, reminisce and count the stars in the sky;
Hang motionless like you and I.
Don’t let me hear you say that life has passed you by.
Remember this, my love for you cannot die.
And with my heart’s fullest measure,
Your love I surely would treasure,
And never leave you Sad and Lonely . . . No!
So, please don’t doubt what I’m sayin’,
I’m hoping you will be stayin’,
‘Cause why should we be Sad and Lonely.
(Repeat Refrain)
(Instrumental Verse)
(Repeat Refrain)
So, with my heart’s fullest measure,
Your love I surely would treasure,
And never leave you Sad and Lonely.
‘Cause why should we be Sad and Lonely.
Lights in the Sky
Words and Music by Ron Goldhahn
Late last Friday evening I decided to go for a drive
To get away from all the hustle and bustle
Of fighting just to stay alive.
The time sorta got away from me as I travelled along.
I was feeling so carefree just singing my favorite song
When all at once from out of the sky
Came an object I'd never seen flashing lights so brilliantly.
I thought it was a dream. I saw...
(Refrain)
Lights in the sky
Beckoning to come fly away with those
Lights up in the sky
Leading me on, leading me on.
Didn't quite know how to take this.
I was utterly confused.
I never thought a leisurely drive could turn
Into such a nightmarish cruise.
The object hovered over me, I was caught in its spell.
Crazy thoughts ran through my head.
I wondered, "Is this a heavenly hell?"
From deep inside this awesome thing
Came a sound so strange to me.
I thought about my friends back home. Would they ever believe?
I saw…
(Repeat Refrain)
Finally, it decided it was time to fly away.
It just took off and shot across the sky
Leaving me there to stay.
I turned around and headed back to town. Oh, my what a night!
The things I'd seen here were so unreal
They'd surely give you a fright.
I don't know whether it happened at all
But one thing I must admit: I'll probably never see it again
But I know I'll never forget about those
Lights in the sky
Beckoning to come fly away with those
Lights up in the sky
Leading me on,
Tout Complet
Words by S. Goldhahn Music by R. Goldhahn
Came into town on the train from Calais,
Tired and beat with no place to stay.
Late at night in the heart of the city
With no sleep at all the streets don't look very pretty.
ln Paris alone with no one to pity
Long way from home brothers off to see the city.
S'il vous plait, a room to stay.
Non, non, tout complet, tout complet, tout, tout complet!
The streets are alive all around the station
Stone in my shoe supposed to be on vacation.
Rue Saint Denis all the ladies are for hire
Give them a franc and they'll soon put out your fire.
In Paris alone with no one to pity
Long way from brothers off to see the city.
S'il vous plait, deux chambres a louer.
Non, non, tout complet, tout complet, tout, tout complet!
All through the night up to see the sunrise
Cafe au lait, wipe the sleep from my eyes.
Bums on the street, don't you know they must be prayin'
Thank the Lord for steam-heat rising up from the grating.
In Paris alone with no one to pity
Long way from brothers off to see the city.
S'il vous plait, deux chambres a louer.
Non, non, tout complet, tout complet, tout, tout complet!
